Atlas Ironworks, Incorporated
Eight Decades of History, Leadership and Growth
 1922 Atlas Iron Works was founded by the first of three generations of present ownership.
Office crew, circa 1937 1930's We weathered the Great Depression despite three years with sales of less than $1,000. Introduced (through Bethlehem Steel) the WF beam to St. Louis.
 1940's We served our country during World War II by fabricating bulkheads for amphibious landing crafts.
 1950's We focused primarily on commercial projects through local general contractors. Contracts were entered into via a handshake.
  1960's We expanded our capabilities and products to serve the industrial market.
 1970's We were one of the first fabricators in St. Louis to install automated beam punching equipment.
 1980's We ventured into the design and manufacturing of custom structural steel mezzanines.
  1990's We updated our fabricating equipment to state of the art CNC operation. We also witnessed a tripling in business volume.
